MOSCOW, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed Moscow's security proposals and the Ukrainian crisis with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in a telephone conversation on Friday.

The leaders exchanged views on European security in light of recent security talks between Russia and the United States in Geneva, meetings of the Russia-North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Council and the Permanent Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Kremlin reported.

Putin said Moscow has been awaiting a written and concrete response to Russia's recently proposed security guarantees.

Both sides agreed that the full implementation of the 2015 Minsk Agreements was significant for a settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
